Many people seek professional assistance when developing an investment strategy for retirement. Recognizing this need, the SMART Plan has made Empower Retirement Advisory Services (Advisory Services) available to participants.

Advisory Services is a behavior-based approach to investing that provides investment advisory tools and services based upon the level of involvement you desire in managing your investments. You can choose as much or as little help as you need. Advisory Services includes Online Investment Guidance, Online Investment Advice, and a Managed Account service for personal and professional investment assistance and account management.

To get started, all you have to do is identify your personal investing behavior type. There are three common investor types, and most people will fall into one of these categories:

Do-It-For-MeSM Investor: You would rather have a qualified financial expert make day-to-day investment decisions for you and monitor your account on an ongoing basis to fit your unique situation and retirement goals. Learn more.

Help-Me-Do-ItSM Investor: You have a pretty good idea about how you want to invest, but you might want a little help in how to allocate your retirement plan account assets or seek validation of your investment decisions. Learn more.

Do-It-MyselfSM Investor: You want to be involved in every step of investment review, investment selection and account monitoring. Learn more.

The Empower Retirement Advisory Services overview brochure provides an overview of each advisory service, as well as information on how to enroll.

If you have questions regarding Advisory Services and would like to speak with an Adviser Representative, call the SMART Plan Service Center at (877) 457-1900. Adviser Representatives are available Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. ET.

There is no guarantee that participation in Advisory Services will result in a profit or that your account will outperform a self-managed portfolio.
